Old Republic, New Frontier

A Grand Meandering
The Party Disperses

(At the expense of having to write this three times, here’s the bottom line)

Everyone disperses after the ship lands. J33V3S almost gets stolen, Setzer gets a weapon, and Loug gets new orders, Jumon delivers his toy, Krai delivers the kid. Setzer buys the droid, and a ship, and than goes out exploring to primitives in the volcanic world of Kro Var.

Krai and Lou fight off an assassination attempt against the Project home backers, after later in the day helping solve a dispute between them.

The End. Fuck It!

Fighting the enemy

The group had successfully warded off the strange droid assailants. The Etiquette Class droid was able to derive from the memory cores that these attackers were following the orders of the ancient, long-thought extinct Rakata. Warning Captain Zoot of the danger, the group went off to investigate a possible camp to the west of the encampment.

As the group went through the woods, the soldier was able to pick up through keen sight and instinct that they were walking into an ambush. Attacking their would-be predators before the ambush was set, they were able to quickly defeat the opponents. However, one of the Rakatan scouts had been able to escape and run through the woods to the encampment, warning the others. Hearing savage yelling and the rattling of sabers and vibro-ax’s, our heros chose to retreat back to camp for safety and to warn the villagers.

Captain Zoot, seeing keeping his mean safe as a priority over keeping peace, began mobilizing his soldiers and defenses, ready to lay down superior firepower at a moments notice. The Jedi Krai convinced him to hold his plans off until necessary. Hoping to appeal to their chiefs sense of Honor, each side chose a Champion to duel: the winner would chose the terms of negotiation. Krai, being the champion for the Project Home settlers and the Jedi, was able to defeat the Rakatan champion, who fought till his last breath.

Unaccepting of defeat or obediance to former slaves, the Rakatan began to threaten and prepare to attack. Captain Zoot, bringing the Star Seeder into the atmosphere, ordered a bombardment of the forces, quickly dispatching the entirety of the enemy force.

Now knowing what to look for, the crew of Project Home began to search the remainder of the planet for signs of other Rakatan tribes. As they searched, Krai and Jumon began to search the remainder of the system for any potential of an area strong in the Force. Beginning from the most outward system and moving inwards, they found that the innermost system, an arid dessert planet, was exactly what they were searching for.

Entering the planets atmosphere, they were able to find a temple-like structure and little else, which was strong in the light-side of the Force, seemingly free of being eaten by the rest of the desert. From the outside, it would it appear to be as-much a fortress as it was a holy site. Towers stood at each of the corners and in the center of each wall, with a great clear dome in the center. Wether this was a Rakatan area of worship wasn’t decipherable: the building had been too long abandoned. However, after putting Rolis in a Force Trance in the middle of the central chamber, she was slowly able to improve her health.

However, as she laid in trance, a great voice resonated throughout the dome of the temple. Likely a Sith of some sort, the voice simply stated “I will have what is rightfully mine!”. Gone as quickly as it came, Rolis exited her trance stronger than when she had enterred. Though she will still need time to heal, her full recovery still uncertain, her initial condition does seem to improve.

Journeying back to the Star Seeder ship, Captain Zoot and his crew begin to make way back for Coruscant.

Exiting Hyperspace

Beginning Location: Prototype ship Star Seeder, Hyperspace

Star Seeder had begun its maiden voyage, part of the Galactic Republic’s ongoing mission, Project Home. This first part of the mission was to show ongoing support for war-ravaged people by giving them new places to live. A private scout had found a very bountiful system, with the 3 suns and all solid planets to colonize, and officials jumped at the news.

Once in Hyperspace, the Captain, a Duros named Captain Zoot noticed problems with the report on the system, in that had seemed far too perfect. All of the planets solid base with perfect orbits and years, None with any sign of inhabittance.

Setzer, a Selkath on board who made himself a part of the security crew, overheard most of this discussion with the Republic on the other end. Of note, the Captain was quick to discount the report as being faked to make easy money.

Coming out of Hyperspace, Star Seeder quickly ran into trouble as it ran right into an asteroid field. Bracing for impact and entering immediate Damage Control, Setzer was able to save the ship from total destruction with the help of an Etiquette Class Protocol Droid, belonging to a Spynet operative.

As the crew was busy taking care of the ship, two Jedi, a Nagai named Krai and a Herglic named Jumon was able to help calm the passengers. In the process, they had found a sick girl named Rolis, who was incredibly strong in the Force for her age. Her parents confessed that they had defected from the Sith Empire, leaving the planet of Karrisa, fearing her daughters death at the hands of the Sith’s training. Her condition had been worsening over the past two years since they had left, and the local medical expert, Doctor Gilmour, could only make observations of what he saw, but no conclusions as to why. Essentially, it was akin to her body being slowly suffocated or starved. Speaking with the Jedi Council member Master Lorza, Krai had found that it is likely the cause of a powerful Sith curse, which can only be undone within a location of strong Light force pressence, such as in the temple on Coruscant.

After the emergency was over, the Herglic had noted that an oddly high number of Cathar were present on the ship, and that one young, seemingly wealthy Cathar seemed to be electing herself in charge. This observation continued as the Star Seeder reached orbit and unloaded its cargo. It was here that three Trandoshan brothers were found to be more interested in hunting than they were in defending the people as they were originally hired to do.

As the Etiquette Class Droid “wandered” out of the main encampment being built, he heard word from the brothers that a clearing existed beyond the woodland area they had been exploring, along with evidence of spears and other primitive weapons.

Later in the evening, the camp had been attacked by a pair of mysterious, ancient droids. It was discovered that they had spoken Rakata, an mysterious and forgotten language. They sought the people of the encampment as slaves, and any Force Sensitives were to be used as “experiments”.

Session Ended.
